During the summer the Windows Refurbishment Project Team progressed the design work for Phase 2 of the Golden Lane Windows Refurbishment Project – Cullum Welch, Stanley Cohen and the Maisonettes – with a view to submitting planning applications for all blocks in early 2025.
A drop-in session was held on 3 October in the Community Centre to update residents with an outline of the proposals to date, answer questions and gather feedback.
What work is being undertaken?
For Stanley Cohen, Cullum Welch and the Maisonette Blocks:
- window repairs
- vacuum glazing installation
- new ventilation systems installed
- new roof and insulation works
What else is required before the planning application is submitted?
- the Design Team will work up details of the proposals between now and the New Year
- Historic England and C20 Society will be consulted prior to the submission
- further pre-planning meetings with the Planning Authority to further the dialogue already underway
- work to provide cost estimates will be undertaken when the design work is complete (there is no cost information available at this stage)
- There will be at least one more resident consultation drop in session, and ideally an online presentation
