new defibrillator for GLE

A new publicly accessible defibrillator has been installed outside the Golden Lane Community Centre as part of the London Ambulance Service’s London Heart Starters campaign.

A cardiac arrest can happen without warning and every minute counts. Immediate CPR and early use of a defibrillator can significantly increase a person’s chance of survival. The defibrillator provides clear voice instructions and can be used by anyone, with no formal training required.

Around 76% of cardiac arrests happen in the home, and having a defibrillator available on the estate means residents can access potentially life-saving equipment before an ambulance arrives. The device is registered with the national defibrillator network, helping emergency call handlers direct people to it quickly when needed.
