Phase 1 of Barbican Renewal is open from 19 May until 2 June.
Renewal is our plan to ensure every part of the Barbican Centre is restored, revitalised and relevant for future generations. Phase 1 (2025-2030) focuses on the Foyers, Lakeside and Conservatory.
In February, we shared initial designs and received almost 500 responses – with around 90% of respondents supporting the proposals. We’ve carefully reviewed the feedback and updated the designs accordingly. This second consultation includes publication of a summary report of the first consultation and offers a closer look at specific areas of interest, along with new CGIs to help visualise the transformation.
We’re now offering stakeholders, audiences and local communities another opportunity to review the proposals and share their views before we move to the planning stage.
