Just before Easter GLERA delivered the letter below with a simple form to collect contact details. You can download the form or contact secretary.glera@gmail.com for link to complete online.

Dear Neighbour
Last week the City’s Project Team held a Community Meeting with Crescent House residents to update them on the Golden Lane Investment Programme (previously the Window Refurbishment and Associated Works Project) and a further meeting for the Wider Estate will be held on Thursday 1 May.
It’s a worrying time, and we will all be affected in countless ways depending on our personal circumstances. As your residents’ association, GLERA represents everyone and we’re concerned that the disruption and cost of the works over the coming years will impact our community.
Now more than ever, it’s really important that we come together, maximise our resources, look after each other and communicate effectively.
To help with that we are doing the following:
- As the City has finally written to Leaseholders with an initial legal opinion relating to the project costs and what they believe can be recovered from residents GLERA now proposes forming a separate Leaseholders Working Group and all Leaseholders will receive a separate letter with more information and date of first meeting.
- All residents are automatically members of GLERA which means we don’t formally collect contact details for residents – our Leaseholder letter will have to be sent via the City. This is obviously not ideal so we’re now inviting residents to share their contact details along with main worries about the Golden Lane Investment Programme.
We’ve created a simple contact form with reassurances about how your information will be used and stored. You can complete online [email secretary.glera@gmail.com for link] or fill in the form attached and post in the GLERA letterbox in the Estate Office.
There is also a Golden Lane What’s App group for general updates and a separate group for leaseholder issues. You can indicate on the form if you would like to be signed up to either or both of them.
We’re trying to keep the GLERA website updated with as much information as possible, from meetings GLERA are having with senior management, prompts to visit the official project website, news from Guildhall, press etc… Do what you can to stay informed.
And don’t forget that our Common Councillors hold monthly surgeries where no appointment is needed (check the EVENTS section on the GLERA website).
If we come together we can make an impact – if you’re interested in joining the GLERA committee please get in touch. We really do need more residents to get involved, particularly tenants – everybody’s voice matters.
