Our response to the City’s latest consultation raises some questions and concerns about Climate Action on each of our two big estates. We applaud the aim of devolving action to the local level, provided it results in meaningful improvements.
Please see our response here. The top considerations, in our view are:
OVERHEATING
Major works on Golden Lane, and an Options Appraisal for Barbican flats could be a good place to start with practical measures to keep our homes comfortable in the summer.AIR QUALITY
Reducing pollution from traffic and construction.LOCAL POPULATION VULNERABILITIES
Making plans which recognise that our neighbourhood is home to people at particular risk from overheating and pollution.GREENING MEANS TREES
Shade for our open spaces and streets. You can make your own views known to the City too at City of London Corporation Housing Climate Survey
The deadline is Saturday 31 October 2026
Thank you.
