Join the Barbican and Golden Lane Neighbourhood Forum walk for a discussion on planning for the future heritage of the area.

Progress is being made on the writing of a neighbourhood plan for the Barbican and Golden Lane Neighbourhood. More information on work to date can be found on our website. An important part of the current work focuses on identifying areas of significance. Points on the route will therefore include: St Giles’ Church and Terrace; the water around the church; the Columbarium; the Highwalk; the Roman wall; Barber Surgeons’ Garden; and the Roman Gatehouse.

There are many questions to address. What buildings should be listed but aren’t yet? How does listing help businesses like the laundrette or the barbers under Crescent House? And how can our listed homes adapt to hotter summers?
