Highway improvement works will take place on Fann Street, along the northern footway beside the Golden Lane Estate, starting on Tuesday 26 May 2026.
WHAT’S HAPPENING
- Removal of existing concrete planters and asphalt
- Installation of three raised planting beds
- Creation of two new pathways using resin-bound gravel
- Final planting to be completed in Autumn, to accommodate planting seasons
Programme duration: Approx. 8 weeks
Contractor: FM Conway (City Corporation term contractor)
PROGRAMME
- Week 1 – 3: Site preparations including clearance and excavations
- Week 4: Installation of steel and soil delivery
- Week 5 – 8: Reinstatement, laying channels and surfacing works
Planting will be delivered in Autumn 2026 to take account of the planting seasons and ensure water connections are installed.
WORKING HOURS
- Monday-Friday: 08:00-18:00
(Noisy works restricted between 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00) - Saturday: 09:00-14:00
The work area will be safely barriered off throughout construction.
