CoL lift service + maintenance update

On 5 January, Precision Lifts took over the City of London Corporation Housing lift service and maintenance provision, following procurement of a new contract throughout 2025.
Due to  circumstances beyond our control, Precision Lifts cannot provide these services to City Corporation Housing beyond 1 April.

Lift service and maintenance, including emergency breakdown cover, is a critical service to residents and other building users. To ensure that all lifts remain operational and are safe to use, Kleeman UK Group (formally known as Guideline) will take over service provision from  1 April.

This will be on an interim basis for a period of 10 months until 31 January 2027, to allow sufficient time for a new long-term contract to be formally procured.

From 8am on 1 April, the following target response timescales will apply.

  • Emergency lift breakdowns during working hours and outside of working hours – attendance within 4 hours.
  • Lift entrapment – attendance within 1 hour.

Please continue to report lift emergencies and breakdowns as follows:

Always report lift emergencies and breakdowns by telephone: 0800 035 0003 (option 1 during working hours or option 3 outside of working hours)

Please do not report emergencies by email, as this may delay response times.

  • Please provide:
    • Estate and building name
    • Lift identification number (visible on the front of the lift), especially in buildings with more than one lift.
