City of London Corporation Housing has been informed by the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) that they intend to inspect our services. RSH inspections are proactive and regular. The RSH carries out routine inspections of larger landlords (those with over 1,000 homes) every four years.
In August, we were informed that we will be inspected by the RSH. The inspection process started in mid-September and we have been working to provide dozens of documents to the RSH which show how well we are meeting four consumer standards: Safety & Quality, Transparency & Accountability, Neighbourhood & Community and Tenancy.
As we mentioned in the October newsletter, inspectors will not be visiting estates or homes, and there is no anticipated impact on residents. However, they would like to meet tenants who are either involved in a Resident’s Association or have taken part recently in a consultation or engagement exercise with the City of London. The Regulator for Social Housing would like to invite you to a focus group session of involved tenants that they will lead.
As a first port of call, I would like to invite any City of London Housing tenants who are members of our Resident Associations to attend. Please do share this invite amongst your tenant members . We will be sharing the link with our other groups of involved tenants so please do encourage people to sign up soon as places are limited.

- How we engage with tenants
- How we influence tenants
- How tenants feel about the services they receive
- What would tenants prioritise to put right
- Overall to get tenants views of the City of London Corporation Housing service.
The session will take place online via Microsoft Teams on the 4th November at 6.30pm-7.30pm. We apologise for the short notice for this session, but we have only just received the confirmed date from the regulator.
