our ward of cripplegate
The City of London elects 100 Councillors across 25 wards. Our ward, Cripplegate, is one of only four residential wards along with Aldersgate, Portsoken and Queenhithe, the rest are business wards.
The resident population is around 1,900 and Golden Lane Estate accounts for about a third. Cripplegate also takes in part of the Barbican Estate, a few other residential blocks, and a small community of businesses in addition to the world renowned Barbican Arts Centre and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

We are all individuals elected on our individual, different and varied manifestos. We each have made a commitment to communicate with each other to try and agree on the important issues facing our electorate and to represent these in a collaborative way to the City of London – an ambitious task but one which is badly needed if we are to raise the voice of residents in the corridors of the Corporation. We also coordinate with the relevant resident associations, and neighbouring wards.
