Thank you for all the suggestions and comments made on our interactive Estate Maps in April-June, the first quarter of the financial year. Officers met to discuss your comments and suggestions at the start of July. We have collected and summarised the issues residents raised below and wanted to outline what actions we will be taking. As we go forward, we will also keep you updated when the actions are completed. We will do this at the end of every quarter, so your next report will be in early October 2025.
Please do keep using the interactive maps to make suggestions for improvements as all your comments are discussed by the team.
Golden Lane
The Estate Services team will undertake a follow up visit to inspect the paving issues raised behind the Shakespeare pub. Additionally an inspection will be carried out on the ramp by COLPAI to ensure it remains safe.
Issues regarding the lighting have been picked up and are part of the major works project plan for estate improvements, and the salvage garage door has been raised for a repair.
Regarding the anti-social behaviour issues mentioned under Cullum Welch House, Parkguard will be notified so they can adjust their patrols accordingly.
The commercial units under Crescent House are managed by City Surveyors, but we will pass on residents’ comments about the café and the use of tables and chairs and so forth on the pavement to ensure that they are complying with their leases.
However, we don’t have any control over the issues raised regarding the decoration of the pub as this is a private business or the tree by the café which falls into the borough of Islington, so would encourage residents to raise those directly if they feel the need to do so.
