walk + talk | what makes a healthy, happy neighbourhood?

April 28 @ 2:00 pm 4:30 pm

Following an enthusiastic response to our first two walks, the Barbican and Golden Lane Neighbourhood Forum is inviting you to “walk and talk” about making the Barbican and Golden Lane a healthier, happier place.

On Tuesday 28 April from 2pm to 4.30pm we’ll consider what adds to good health, and what subtracts from it, in our local area.

As we explore the neighbourhood, we’ll walk back in time to where so much of London’s health care started at the glorious, newly-renovated Bart’s Great Hall in a special visit hosted by the curators from Bart’s Heritage.

When policy makers talk about health they tend to mean services like GPs and hospitals. And of course, we need these for diagnosis and treatment, but a decent home, fresh air, enough money to survive on, access to culture and sports, as well as an active network of family and friends are at least as important and may even reduce our reliance on services. There will be other things that are crucial to you and your health. Join us and share your thoughts!

Places are limited at Bart’s, so please book here.

We start at 2pm outside the entrance to Golden Lane Leisure Centre. See you there on the 28th!

Thanks as always for all your support,
