waste reduction workshop

January 27 @ 5:30 pm 7:00 pm

Are you a resident of the City of London? We’d love to hear from you about how we can reduce waste, share tools, and support repair in our neighbourhoods.

We know that managing waste, accessing tools, and getting repairs done can be challenging, and we believe the best solutions come from the people who experience these challenges every day. That’s why the City of London, together with local residents, and design researchers from Stby, is launching a Library of Things this Spring: an easy, affordable way to access tools and equipment rather than buying new. This is part of a wider effort to help our community save money, improve recycling, reduce waste, and strengthen local resource sharing, in partnership with the Barbican Library.

Whether it’s confusion about what can be recycled or not having the right tools to repair everyday items, we’d love to hear about your experiences. Register your interest to attend 1 of 4 workshops to share experiences and ideas for taking action across January to help co-create what these services could look like.

There are 4 different sessions, 1 located at each estate:

  • 7 January 7:30-9pm – Sir Ralph Perring Centre
  • 13 January 5:30-7pm – Portsoken Community Centre
  • 19 January 5:30-7pm – Artizan Street Library
  • 27 January 5:30-7pm – Barbican Library

Together, we can build more practical, accessible and community-led ways to help reduce waste in our neighbourhood.

We hope you’ll join us and help shape what comes next! Show interest here
