All residents of the Golden Lane Estate are members of the Golden Lane Estate Residents’ Association unless they opt out. Your committee is up for election and we are having our AGM. This a great opportunity to meet your neighbours and get involved in what is happening on the Estate.

GLERA activities

What has the GLERA been doing for you in the past year? We have:

• Engaged with the City over the windows replacement/refurbishment programme and other major works
• Liaised with the residents’ associations in the Barbican and Middlesex Street to present a united front to the City
• Applying and getting a grant for the Christmas carols
• Applying and getting a grant for the summer event
• Arranging the hustings for the Council elections
• Helping to arrange the Imagine Golden Lane events
• Had discussions with the City about adjusting everyone’s service charges to reflect changes on the Estate
• Had discussions with the City about rewriting leaseholder’s leases to reflect changes on the Estate

looking forward

Issues for the next year will be the increased level of footfall over the Estate now Crossrail is open, anti-social behaviour, community cohesion as we emerge from the pandemic and anything else that comes up. We have recently been trying to focus on community events and community conversations. To keep this going we will apply for more grants for social events.
