SUMMARY:GLERA residents' meeting
DESCRIPTION:Golden Lane Community Centre\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEVERYONE WELCOME!!! We’ll be reporting back on continuing efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour\, update on the Bike Project\, discussing Beech Street proposals\, mould survey… \n\n\n\nMOULD SURVEYOur Cripplegate Councillors are very concerned about reports of mould in our homes and want to hear from residents about the their experiences tackling the problem. Fill in the GLERA mould survey (link removed as survey now closed)or if your prefer a paper copy call Cllr Anne Corbett on 07513 703038. \n\n\n\nBEECH STREET TUNNELNew zero emissions proposals for the Beech Street tunnel could see Golden Lane turn into a rat run for petrol and diesel vehicles. (link removed as survey removed now closed). \n\n\n\nREPORT ASBRemember to keep reporting any anti-social behaviour so as our local policing can have a clearer picture of incidents on the estate and how to deploy resources (we are generally very bad at reporting). If the incident is threatening or in progress call 999 or Bishopsgate Police on 020 7601 222. \n\n\n\nREPORT ASB\n\n\n\nAnd don’t forget Cripplegate Ward Meeting on Wednesday 1 February @ 7pm at St Giles Church – a chance to hear what our Councillors and new Alderman have been up to\, ask any questions\, plus speakers from Climate Action Strategy team and the Green Doctors.

SUMMARY:golden lane bike project
DESCRIPTION:Sir Ralph Perring Centre\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCommunity Cafe 2.00pmPresentation on the Golden Lane Bike Project 3.00pm \n\n\n\nIn response to the pandemic\, 2020 saw a major move towards encouraging cycling and walking in the City of London and across the capital. As an alternative to public transport and car use\, making the most of the fresh air suddenly became very attractive. \n\n\n\nA report Healthy and Safe summarised an initiative to encourage cycling on Golden Lane Estate. The publication brought together a survey of residents; an overview of current storage on the Estate; an analysis of places to build new cycle storage; and suggestions for improved ways of creating safe and secure bicycle storage. \n\n\n\nResidents realised that encouraging people to walk and cycle was a good idea but a key aspect for making this happen was the provision of safe storage for cycles\, something sorely missing on the estate. Following publication of the report\, a grant application was made to the City of London Community Infrastructure Levy fund to encourage cycling; refurbish existing bike sheds; add new public bicycle racks and create a set of safe and secure places for cycle storage. The application was successful.Consultations have now taken place to establish the best approach to installing new equipment and improving existing facilities. Local residents and experts in consultation STBY\, led this process. The next step was the appointment of project managers to implement the plans. The project managers have had discussions with the police and with the planning department ahead of submission of a planning application. \n\n\n\nMORE ON THE BIKE PROJECT
