SUMMARY:GLERA residents' meeting
DESCRIPTION:Community Centre\, downstairs\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\ngeneral updates\n\n\n\nWINDOWS + ASSOCIATED WORKSAt the February GLERA meeting we reported back on a meeting with Judith Finlay (Executive Director of Community and Children’s Services)\, Peta Caine (Assistant Director Housing Community and Children’s Services) and Greg Wade (Head of Major Works Housing). See GLERA residents’ meeting. \n\n\n\nThere is a follow up meeting scheduled for last week in March and will be reporting back on any updates. \n\n\n\nWe have again expressed concerns about the quality of legal opinion that the Corporation is able to produce in-house and will hopefully soon receive a full response to our email dated 15 October highlighting this concern. See why the delay in providing legal opinion? \n\n\n\nPlus updates re COLPAI and REDEVELOPMENT OF THE LEISURE CENTRE. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nspecial guest\n\n\n\nWe have invited Cooperation Town to come and talk to us about setting up our very own food cooperative – this could be a really exciting resident run initiative. \n\n\n\n\nCooperation Town co-ops are small neighbourhood buying groups\, providing their members with free and affordable groceries\, sourced in bulk and distributed at a very low price.  \n\n\n\nCooperation Town food co-ops are owned by their members and run according to local needs. Members decide collectively on how to organise and are responsible for the day to day running of the co-op. \n\n\n\nWhile each Cooperation Town co-op is independent\, the network is designed to share resources and support across the movement.

DESCRIPTION:Golden Lane Community Centre\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeveral times throughout the year\, the Recycling Team run Give and Take Days at different locations across the City. Have items in a reusable condition you no longer need? Looking for something new-to-you? This is your chance to declutter sustainably while helping to reduce waste and support your local community. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nhow it works\n\n\n\nThe day is spilt into two parts – the ‘Give’ where you can come and donate your unwanted items. There is no limit to the number of items we will accept. These items will be sorted and displayed ready for the ‘Take’ part of the day which will happen later\, where you are welcome to select items you’d like to bring home with you. There is no limit on the number of items you can take home\, but we ask that people take only what they need so that others in the community get a chance to participate.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\ngive | 10 am – 12 pm\n\n\n\nDonate your pre-loved items in a good\, reusable condition\, including: \n\n\n\n\nClothes and shoes\n\n\n\nToys\n\n\n\nKitchenware\n\n\n\nBric-a-brac\n\n\n\nBooks\n\n\n\nDVDs\n\n\n\nElectrical items\n\n\n\n\nWe can’t accept donations after 12pm\, so please arrive between 10am-12pm to donate your items. SUMMARY:forming a leaseholder working party
DESCRIPTION:Sir Ralph Perring Centre | Teams\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLeaseholders will have recently received a letter from Corporation of London outlining their legal opinion on the planned major works projects on our estate. See letter. \n\n\n\nGLERA has been active in getting this information for leaseholders\, even though the outcome is unwelcome\, and have responded to the letter. We will continue to press for more detail and actual anticipated costs along with better programme details. See response. \n\n\n\nThis meeting is for all Leaseholders interested in forming a working party to concentrate on building our negotiating/legal case. We know that many of our leaseholders have valuable skills to help us assemble our case and reduce the charges we are asked to pay. \n\n\n\nThere will be a Teams link for anyone unable to attend in person. It would be really helpful if you could email chair.glera@gmail.com if you plan to attend / or to request Teams link.
