SUMMARY:city plan 2040 | heritage
DESCRIPTION:All Hallows by the Tower\, Byward Street\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo present the City Plan and policies and approaches on heritage. \n\n\n\nAs a part of the regulation 19 consultation\, the City Corporation is undertaking a series of events on key topics for the City Plan. City Plan 2040 is the City Corporation’s vision for how the Square Mile will develop up to 2040. It contains a suite of policies to guide development in the City\, ensuring growth is economically\, environmentally and socially sustainable. \n\n\n\nThe City Corporation formally approved the local plan for the Square Mile\, known as ‘City Plan 2040’\, last month. \n\n\n\nThe decision means that the finalised plan will now be published for public consultation\, before submission and examination by an independent planning inspector later this year. \n\n\n\nThe plan will: \n\n\n\n\nPower a growing\, vibrant and competitive economy\, with over 1.2m sqm of additional office floorspace delivered by 2040;\n\n\n\nTransform the Square Mile into a 7-day-a-week cultural and leisure destination for everyone;\n\n\n\nEnsure the City is a highly sustainable place to do business\, with a net zero Square Mile by 2040;\n\n\n\nCreate an inclusive\, accessible and healthy Square Mile where everyone feels welcome; and\n\n\n\nCelebrate local heritage while re-shaping those parts of the City that have the most potential for growth and regeneration.\n\n\n\n\nWe will be expanding on the plan’s emphasis on celebrating the City’s historic environment – and exploring the pivotal role that heritage can play in placemaking\, the economy and wellbeing. Leading practitioners in the field will share case studies\, followed by a debate and Q&A. \n\n\n\nWe will provide an overview of how to respond and what happens next. Learn more about our consultation on Commonplace. \n\n\n\nRESERVE YOUR SPOT
